The Pilot E-Text WebRing is a group
of web sites dedicated to publishing documents for the PalmPilot.
While there are already two general purpose WebRings for Pilot users, both
rings have become so large that we felt a ring just for E-Text sites would
a big win for Pilot users and for our Webmasters.

ring, click here.
Notes for Webmasters who would like to join
This WebRing is only open to those sites
which offer e-texts for the PalmPilot, or which offer software for using
e-texts on the PalmPilot. Your site needs to be more than just a
collection of links to other sites. Final decision on who may join the
WebRing rests with the RingMaster.
The RingMaster reserve the right to remove
sites from the ring if they fail to follow these guidelines.
If you would like to join, use the link
above to submit a request. The request will ask you for an e-mail address
and the URL of your Pilot E-Text pages. You will be assigned a ring id
At this point you should make copies of
the following three graphic images and add them to your web site:
You must use these graphics. You may change
the colors if needed, but they must be immediately recognizable as the
Pilot E-Text graphics. With other WebRings there has been a problem with
inconsistent graphics causing confusion for the end users. By using the
same graphics on all our member pages, we hope to make our ring as easy
to use as possible.
If you do use Frames, any link to another
site in the ring must leave your frame. If you don't know how to do this,
let me know and I'll send
you the code.
You will also have to copy the following
HTML fragment and place it prominently on the same page you specified
when submitting your request. Please do not specify one web page in
your request and then place this HTML fragement on a different page. Like
the graphics, this is important for making life easy for our users. They
shouldn't have to search your web pages looking for the ring buttons.
This fragment can be immediately inserted
into your own HTML for your home page. Where ever you see the words "_YOUR_ID_"
replace them with the id number you got when you submitted the page.
Within a day or so of your submitting
your request, the RingMasters will visit your site to verify that you have
correctly added the HTML fragment and graphics to your web pages. If you
have, he will then activate your membership in the WebRing.
Note to HTML Gurus: If you are familiar
with WebRings, you are probably aware that they offer a number of features
which aren't listed in the above code fragment. If you choose to add those
features to your page, you may - but only as long as the main graphic appears
