Monday Book Pick: The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming

Monday, October 19th, 2009

The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming by Christopher C. Horner.

Since the BBC finally figured out that the planet stopped getting warmer a decade ago, today’s pick is by someone who pointed out some of the problems with broken model of the anthropogenic global warming Luddites a few years ago.

BBC asks: What happened to global warming?

Monday, October 12th, 2009

Paul Hudson, the BBC News “Climate correspondent” asks an inconvenient question:

What happened to global warming?

For the last 11 years we have not observed any increase in global temperatures.

And our climate models did not forecast it, even though man-made carbon dioxide, the gas thought to be responsible for warming our planet, has continued to rise.

Well, to be honest, there were climate models that didn’t predict the rise of global temperature observed in the 1990s continuing, but there wasn’t a scam to run on the gullible using those models.

One thing that anthropogenic global warming Luddites don’t like to admit is that natural climate change is real and it has happened throughout the planet’s history, and will continue to do so.  Dudes, the planet will abide.

If you are still skeptical over the actual science involved, try this…FOLLOW THE MONEY!

Update: The movie the anthropogenic global warming Luddites at Stanford University don’t want you to see.

An advisor to Al Gore, who makes a lot of money selling so-called “Carbon Credits”, was warning the world about a man made Ice Age that was about to wreak global destruction back in the 1970s.

Something to look forward to if Cap & Tax passes

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

The UK has their own version of the Cap and Tax bill already. It provides some interesting insight into what Americans can look forward to if our Dear Leader and the democrats in Congress get what they want.

For example, an additional tax on air travel.

Tens of billions of pounds will have to be raised through flight taxes to compensate developing countries for the damage air travel does to the environment, according to the Government’s advisory body on climate change.

Ticket prices should rise steadily over time to deter air travel and ensure that carbon dioxide emissions from aviation fall back to 2005 levels, the Committee on Climate Change says. It believes that airlines should be forced to share the burden of meeting Britain’s commitment to an 80 per cent cut in emissions by 2050.

Yup, the bottom line is the flow of money from the First World to the Third World.

The Green Enron

Friday, August 21st, 2009

One thing that has been pretty clear for a while is that so-called “carbon offset credits” are mostly a scam run on the gullible. Even the NY Times has admitted it.

Also keep in mind that these so-called “carbon offset credits” are at the heart of the “Cap and Tax” scheme our Dear Leader and the congressional democrats are trying to shove down the throats of the American People.

Here is another block of evidence to support the “it’s a scam” school of rational thought.

The UK Telegraph reports the following:

Officers from HM Revenue & Customs searched both residential properties and offices in both Gravesend and London targeting an alleged network of organised crime.

Members are believed to have been trading large volumes of high-value carbon credits from overseas sources free of VAT.

Tax investigators believe these may then have been sold on to businesses in the UK charging VAT that is never paid to the authorities.

So far, the cash total in this “green” criminal enterprise $62.8 Million.

The nice man at Watts Up With That has noted that someone has already done a Masters Thesis on just how ripe the so-called “carbon offset credits” for fraud.

Let us look at the most famous peddler of these Modern Plenary Indulgences here in the United States of America, Al Gore.  Selling Carbon Offset Credits has been very, very good to Al Gore.  He owns a mansion and yacht.  Not just any mansion, mind you, but one that uses more electricity in a month than the average American home uses in a year! Like other eco-hypocrits pushing the Carbon Offset Credit Scam, Al Gore also isn’t giving up his use of private jets, which produce about four and half tons of carbon per hour of flight time.

A smart step toward American energy independence.

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

The Tennessee Valley Authority is bringing a new Nuclear Reactor on line, on schedule and on budget, in order to provide clean, “carbon free”, electricity in useful quanties, to their customers.

Clean and safe nuclear power is supported as the “green option” by serious leaders of the environmental movement, including Gaia theorist James Lovelock, Greenpeace cofounder Patrick Moore, and Britain’s Bishop Hugh Montefiore, a longtime board member of Friends of the Earth.

Of course, there are uneducated watermelon groups opposing this step toward clean, American engergy indepence, including the obviously confused “Southern Alliance for Clean Energy.”

Republican Congress Critters for sale

Monday, June 29th, 2009

The old joke is that a “Honest Politician” was one that would stay bought.

Eight Republican members of congress proved they were for sale by breaking party ranks and voting for the democrat‘s “Cap & Tax” scheme.

Let’s be honest here, the “Cap & Tax” scheme isn’t about the environment and it certainly won’t create jobs. It will make the poor poorer and Al “manbearpig” Gore (owner of a mansion and a yacht) even richer.

The Washington Examiner points out just who paid them off and how much it took to buy their vote.

Stop by Michelle Malkin’s site for a good graphic showing the traitorous eight. Anybody running against them in a primary would be a good person to donate to.

Cap & Tax update

Friday, June 26th, 2009

First off, the socialists over at Greenpeace (Hey! Don’t look at me. One of the founders quit after it was hijacked by socialists, that’s his story) oppose the democrat‘s Cap & Tax scheme. They claim it’s “not Science-Based; Benefits Polluters.” In this case, they are probably right.

Then there are 9 damned good reasons why some U.S. environmentalists should heartily oppose Waxman-Markey.

Next we have our Dear Leader‘s political appointees at the EPA suppressing real scientific research and studies that don’t agree with the left’s political agenda

The dems are trying to shove this through after blocking hundreds of Republican amendments and then adding a 300+ page amendment of their own under the cover of darkness last night. What are they hiding from the American people?

Two interesting bits of energy news

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

First, the price of oil is going up. It’s over $66 a barrel and show signs of continuing to go up.
Ace thinks that our Dear Leader is going to loose some of his popularity as gas prices climb over $3 a galleon and shoot toward $4 a galleon.
Quite possibly, but then a lot of his supporters, like our Dear Leader, want gas prices over $4 a galleon. They want to kill the SUV and the suburban mom’s best buddy, the minivan. They want solar and wind power generation stations built, but not in their neighborhood.
The GOP should make the most of rising energy costs, and energy costs will rise due to the Cap & Tax scheme going through the democrat controlled congress, by pointing out how our Dear Leader and the democrats are blocking access domestic sources sources like oil, natural gas and coal. They are also blocking the choice of many serious environmentalists, Nuclear Power.
Ace may have a point, since unemployment is continuing to rise, and increased inflation is pretty much a sure thing.

The other bit of energy news comes from Planetizen. It seems that domestic underused natural gas capacity could almost completely replace our current coal-generated electrical energy. Natural gas burns much cleaner than coal and can be used to power motor vehicles as well. Coal can be converted to a liquid fuel, but it is generally less clean than using natural gas.

Bottom line, the spike in energy prices doesn’t have to happen, or at least it doesn’t need to be as bad. The spike will occur because Barack Hussein Obama and the democrats in Congress want higher energy prices to drive their political agenda. If the GOP can’t build a message around that, they are political incompetents who deserve to lose. The only problem with that that American people will pay the price of the democrat’s political agenda with a longer and deeper recession and a declining dollar as inflation climbs.

A quick “climate change” roundup

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

First off, Communist China isn’t planning on changing its behavior of building filthy dirty coal fired power plants at the rate of one a month and subsidizing gas prices to promote the habit of driving cars and trucks.

Next, I remember some of my leftist friends expressing joy over our Dear Leader appointing a scientist to the position of Energy Secretary. Well, now this scientist is proposing painting house roofs white and “lighting” road surfaces in order to reduce “global warming.” Can somebody please point out to this scientist that the global temperature has been actually been decreasing for the past decade.

“Climate Change” is good for some businesses

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

It seems that extra prostitutes had to be shipped in to Copenhagen in order to service the attendees of the recent World Business Summit climate conference.

So, far this is the only hard evidence I’ve seen of “green job creation.”
