Obama administration cuts back on fraud prosecutions

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

Remember how “Obamacare” was supposed to “pay for itself” by cutting $50 Billion in fraud and waste?  You haven’t heard much about that lately either.  Probably because our Dear Leader and the congressional democrats never planned on implementing it.

The truth is that they have done exactly the opposite.  USA Today reports that there has actually been a 20% reduction in the number of criminal prosecutions for defrauding federal benefit programs since our Dear Leader took office. It is almost as if the democrats want to promote fraud and waste in government benefit spending.

Once again we find that what our Dear Leader promised has nothing to do with what he actually planned on doing.  Remember this come November 2012.

Obamacare mandate struck down as unconstitutional!

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

From Forbes:

Justice Roger Vinson of the U.S. District Court in Pensacola ruled today that the primary mechanism used by health reform to achieve universal insurance coverage–the individual mandate–is illegal. If his ruling stands it would void the 2,700 page, $938 billion health reform bill passed last year.

“Because the individual mandate is unconstitutional and not severable, the entire Act must be declared void.”

This isn’t the first ruling against Obamacare. Plus, over half the states are suing the federal government over the unfunded mandates in Obamacare.

Obamacare was an extremely unpopular bill that only passed with no Republicans voting for it, and bipartisan support against it.

Political Humor

Saturday, January 8th, 2011

A young woman from Los Angeles, CA who was a tree hugger, a liberal Democrat, an anti-hunter, and possibly a cousin of Julia Butterfly’s, purchased a piece of timberland near Colville, WA. There were many large, old trees on one of the highest points in the tract. She wanted a good view of the natural splendor of her land so she started to climb the biggest tree. As she neared the top she encountered a spotted owl that attacked her. In her haste to escape, the woman slid down the tree to the ground and got many splinters in her crotch.

In considerable pain, she hurried to Mt. Carmel ER to see a doctor. She told him she was an environmentalist, a democrat, and an anti-hunter and how she came to get all the splinters. The doctor listened to her story with great patience and then told her to go wait in the examining room and he would see if he could help her.

She sat and waited three hours before the doctor reappeared. The angry woman demanded, “What took you so long?” He smiled and then told her, “Well, I had to get permits from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management before I could remove old-growth timber from a recreational area. I’m sorry, but due to Obama Care, they turned me down.”

What is it that the democrats are afraid to show the American People?

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

House and Senate democrat “leaders” are planning on keeping deliberations secret as they work out the compromise “heath care” bill behind closed doors.

C-Span is calling for the congressional democrats to do what our Dear Leader called for, have the debate open and available for the American People to see.

Openness and transparency in the political process. That is what the democrats ran on, but are refusing to implement.

The reality is the the democrats really don’t want any honest and open debate. If that happens, the American people could see exactly what they are trying to shove down their throats without their knowledge.

A wise woman spoke the truth when she said, “They win in the dark; we win in the light.”

The last thing the democrats want is the ObamaCare bill to be brought out of the cover of darkness and into the cleansing light of the public.

A Nebraska doctor’s message for Ben Nelson

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

Michelle Malkin publishes an open letter from a Nebraska doctor to her Senator:

Dear Senator Nelson:
I send this message under “Tort Reform” because the current monstrosity you have pledged your support to says nothing whatsoever about Tort Reform. You have sold the physicians of Nebraska for zilch (zilch for us, but beaucoup federal bucks for you and the liberal partisans in this state). As a family practice physician in Small Town, Nebraska, I was counting on you to be the lone voice of Democratic sanity on this issue, but you sold me out. I will dedicate
every spare minute of my time and every spare dollar I have to defeating you, should you run for re-election.

Thank you, Ben, for forcing doctors like me to earn less than the repairmen who fix our appliances. Case in point: We recently had our dishwasher fixed. The repairman who came to our house charged $65 just to come and ‘diagnose’ the problem, then charged another $180 to ‘fix’ the problem. You and your fellow lawmakers have fixed MY going rate (Medicare) at $35 per-visit. Thank you for securing such a ‘lucrative’ rate for me! Thank you so much for making me–someone with 8 years of education!–make less than a mechanic or appliance repair technichian. And thanks especially for falling in line with Obama and the rest of the Democrats to make such a socialist system permanent.
You have my disgust and disdain forever, you socialist-coddling coward.

The 2010 elections should be interesting.

Roundup

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Here is a roundup of some posts from No Moss Here.

The so-called “scientists” threw out their raw data.

It seems that this is the best the pet “scientists” used by the anthropogenic global warming Luddites can come up with, the dog ate my homework defense.  It makes a rational person wonder what they were trying to hide.

In a poll of registered voters, two thirds felt that the democrat so-called “stimulus” has not benefited the economy.

Obama’s DoJ, which won’t investigate the Black Panthers, says the criminals at ACORN are to get tax payer money.

ObamaCare’s Cost Could Top $6 Trillion.

The Wisdom of Dr. Pournelle

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

I’ve posted very insightful comments by Dr. Jerry Pournelle before.

Here are couple more.   First on is on the economy.

“Unemployment is over 10%. It wasn’t supposed to get that high. TARP was supposed to fix that. . . . If the health care bill passes, it will fundamentally convert these United States into a different kind of popular democracy, which generally means rule by a unionized bureaucracy organized to vote. Once that much of the economy is run by government, economic recovery as many hope for will simply be impossible. Permanent unemployment at 7% or so; median income perhaps 10% higher than it is now, but not much higher; and a long period of stagflation. Reluctance to take on new employees, and great incentive to export jobs. Is this a picture of the future? We will have to see, as Congress debates the health care and carbon tax bills. . . . With Detroit a ruin and manufacturing industries on the ropes, small business is the only possible engine of recovery from what they don’t call a Depression; so the Congress is going to add an 8% tax on employing people. We already have the longest period of increasing unemployment since the Great Depression; I presume we are going for a really big record setting period of increasing unemployment. . . . The incentives are now to the job black market — hire illegal immigrants who don’t have to have health insurance — or to export the job if that can possibly be done.”

Next up this on target observation about Health Care and politics.

“I would have thought that the Obama administration is at least as responsible for the US response to the Swine Flu problem as the Bush administration ever was for the New Orleans response to Katrina, but the media are not reporting it that way. I wonder how those who stood in long lines for hours only to find that there is no vaccine feel about the government’s coming takeover of the entire health care system? Will the new health care system work more smoothly than does, say, FEMA? Is there any reason to think so?”

Update: Let’s not forget Dr. Pournelle’s Pournelle’s Iron Law of Bureaucracy

Pournelle’s Iron Law of Bureaucracy states that in any bureaucratic organization there will be two kinds of people: those who work to further the actual goals of the organization, and those who work for the organization itself. Examples in education would be teachers who work and sacrifice to teach children, vs. union representative who work to protect any teacher including the most incompetent. The Iron Law states that in all cases, the second type of person will always gain control of the organization, and will always write the rules under which the organization functions.
