Round Up Post

Wednesday, May 25th, 2016

Technology marches on.  Yet another “3D printed” gun.  Yes, it’s plastic, with a steel barrel, bolt, springs, and a few other important metal parts.

America has been at war during the entire Obama Occupy the White House Golf Tour.  Unexpectedly.

Burlington College is being forced to close due to “crushing debt” it acquired by President Sanders.  Jane Sanders, wife of Vermont Socialist and massive pain in Hillary Rodham Clinton’s sizable ass, did to Burlington College what her husband wants to do to America.

The democrat Culture of Corruption marches on.  The Department Veterans Affairs is reinstating an employee who stole $130,000 from the agency.  Graft, fraud, and corruption is just the cost of doing business when democrats are in power.

Even the New York Times has to admit the problems with Obamacare, like just how many doctors won’t accept it.

13 Incompetent Failures in the Obama Administration. There are many, many more.  This is more of a highlight reel.

Captain America is Straight and Libertarian.  Deal with it.

Round Up Post

Thursday, March 10th, 2016

Time to clear out all the tabs on my browser again.

Let’s lead with this article from the Foundation for Economic Education. It points out what is wrong with Trumps claims about manufacturing jobs, and how to fix the problem.  It goes on to point out that Trump is the moderate on the subject when compared to Vermont Socialist Bernie Sanders.  Sanders is completely divorced from reality on the subject, and his “solutions” have the high probability of making the thing he wants to fix even worse.

Socialists in America, like Bernie Sanders, used to point to Venezuela as the modern example of how socialism works. No so much anymore.  Probably because socialism has created a Humanitarian disaster in Venezuela.

On the subject of 2016 Presidential candidates, the Washington Post reports that the FBI is granting immunity to person who set up Hillary Clinton’s private email server.  In legal circles, this is what is known as a “bad sign.”

Modern Healthcare has a report on the Illinois Obamacare program.  I’ll give you the short version, they operated at a $90.8 million loss in 2015.  Remember back before the so-called “Affordable Care Act” was passed in the middle of the night right before Congress left Washington for Christmas?  Come on, you remember. It was done using a procedure that even the democrats own resident high ranking Klansman objected to, in order to avoid a vote in the Senate.  Something to do with the democrat stronghold of Massachusetts electing a Republican expressly to vote against Obamacare.  There were some people, mainly those who had actually read the ACA, who objected to it, claiming it was economically unviable.  They were uniformly called “racists”, which we now know means “anyone who disagrees with a democrat.”

Bill Clinton is on the campaign trail trashing Obama’s handling of the so-called economic recovery.  Something he has in common with Bernie Sanders.  What he is short on is how Hillary is going to a better job from federal prison.

The American Thinker points out that NPR doesn’t want to actually admit in their in article on how Obamacare is a failure that Obamacare is a failure.

The third part of a Bernie Sanders speech

Sunday, September 20th, 2015

The third part of a Bernie Sanders speech is pure socialist class warfare, income redistribution rhetoric. Nonsense which the useful idiots who support him swallow whole because they have no understanding of economics, and are either ignorant of or willfully ignore history.

Bernie is remarkably light on details on just how he is going to pay for his vision of a socialist workers paradise. The math isn’t hard. The Wall Street Journal put the price tag at $18 trillion, which is the current federal debt. Bernie denied the WSJ numbers, but refused to present any of his own. That is because he doesn’t have any plans based in reality. Socialism has failed each and every time it has been tried. It has resulted in economic collapse or has had to kill off large chunks of the population. Usually both. Socialist countries killed over a 100 million of their own citizens in the 20th Century. Remind any useful idiot who babbles about “feel the Bern” of this fact. Odds are it won’t make any difference. They will probably either ignore or deny it.

Happy Lenin’s birthday (a.k.a “Earth Day”)

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

Yup, it’s time for the annual Lenin’s Birthday post.

Yup, “Earth Day” is on Lenin’s Birthday.  Not a coincidence, given that the “founder” of Earth Day was much more a “Watermelon” than an actual environmentalist.

Watermelon: Thin layer of green of the outside, red to the core.

The celebrations start with a round up of predictions from the very first “Earth Day” back in 1970.

“Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.” — George Wald, Harvard Biologist

“Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make. The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.” — Paul Ehrlich, Stanford University biologist

“By…[1975] some experts feel that food shortages will have escalated the present level of world hunger and starvation into famines of unbelievable proportions. Other experts, more optimistic, think the ultimate food-population collision will not occur until the decade of the 1980s.” — Paul Ehrlich, Stanford University biologist

“It is already too late to avoid mass starvation,” — Denis Hayes, chief organizer for Earth Day

“Demographers agree almost unanimously on the following grim timetable: by 1975 widespread famines will begin in India; these will spread by 1990 to include all of India, Pakistan, China and the Near East, Africa. By the year 2000, or conceivably sooner, South and Central America will exist under famine conditions….By the year 2000, thirty years from now, the entire world, with the exception of Western Europe, North America, and Australia, will be in famine.” — Peter Gunter, professor, North Texas State University

“Scientists have solid experimental and theoretical evidence to support…the following predictions: In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution…by 1985 air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half….” — Life Magazine, January 1970

“At the present rate of nitrogen buildup, it’s only a matter of time before light will be filtered out of the atmosphere and none of our land will be usable.” — Kenneth Watt, Ecologist

“Air pollution…is certainly going to take hundreds of thousands of lives in the next few years alone.” — Paul Ehrlich, Stanford University biologist

Ok, Ehrlich was sorta right on this, if you restrict his predictions to modern Communist China, where they are showing the typical communist/socialist contempt for the environment.

“By the year 2000, if present trends continue, we will be using up crude oil at such a rate…that there won’t be any more crude oil. You’ll drive up to the pump and say, `Fill ‘er up, buddy,’ and he’ll say, `I am very sorry, there isn’t any.’” — Kenneth Watt, Ecologist

Now we get to my personal favorite, although probably not Al Gore‘s…
“The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years,” he declared. “If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.” — Kenneth Watt, Ecologist

It wouldn’t be Lenin’s Birthday with out this clip of the late George Carlin discussing “Saving the Planet.”

The LA Times makes an interesting observation about our Dear Leader

“[The Obama] administration has pursued a quiet but malicious campaign against the news media and their sources, more aggressively attacking those who ferret out confidential information than even the George W. Bush administration did”

American Socialists Release Names of 70 Congressional Democrats in Their Ranks.

The New York Post notes:

In a move of stunning hypocrisy, the United Federation of Teachers axed one of its longtime employees — for trying to unionize the powerful labor organization’s own workers, it was charged yesterday.

democrats to Massachusetts voters: It’s not the “Peoples’ Seat” you peasants! It’s the Kennedy seat!

May 1: Victims of Communism Day

Saturday, May 1st, 2010

As various leftists gather today to celebrate their anti-Human Rights policies, let us remember the 100 million people killed by their socialist/communist governments in the 20th Century.

Rev. Sharpton informs the American voters just what they voted for

Monday, March 29th, 2010

Now, educated people on the right have been saying for a while that our Dear Leader‘s policies are socialist.

We now have some verification on this from the extremist left, by way of the Rev. Al Sharpton, who ran for the democrat nomination for President a few years ago.

The Rev. Sharpton makes the point that our Dear Leader‘s policies were pretty clearly socialist during the election, so people are just getting what they voted for.

Interesting street sign in downtown Boston.  It has a “Why So Socialist?” Obama sticker, right there in the heart of liberal land.

A Nebraska doctor’s message for Ben Nelson

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

Michelle Malkin publishes an open letter from a Nebraska doctor to her Senator:

Dear Senator Nelson:
I send this message under “Tort Reform” because the current monstrosity you have pledged your support to says nothing whatsoever about Tort Reform. You have sold the physicians of Nebraska for zilch (zilch for us, but beaucoup federal bucks for you and the liberal partisans in this state). As a family practice physician in Small Town, Nebraska, I was counting on you to be the lone voice of Democratic sanity on this issue, but you sold me out. I will dedicate
every spare minute of my time and every spare dollar I have to defeating you, should you run for re-election.

Thank you, Ben, for forcing doctors like me to earn less than the repairmen who fix our appliances. Case in point: We recently had our dishwasher fixed. The repairman who came to our house charged $65 just to come and ‘diagnose’ the problem, then charged another $180 to ‘fix’ the problem. You and your fellow lawmakers have fixed MY going rate (Medicare) at $35 per-visit. Thank you for securing such a ‘lucrative’ rate for me! Thank you so much for making me–someone with 8 years of education!–make less than a mechanic or appliance repair technichian. And thanks especially for falling in line with Obama and the rest of the Democrats to make such a socialist system permanent.
You have my disgust and disdain forever, you socialist-coddling coward.

The 2010 elections should be interesting.

An Open Letter to our Dear Leader

Monday, June 15th, 2009

According to Snopes.com:

Lou Pritchett is a former vice president of Procter & Gamble whose career at that company spanned 36 years before his retirement in 1989, and he is the author of the 1995 business book, Stop Paddling & Start Rocking the Boat.

Mr. Pritchett confirmed that he was indeed the author of the much-circulated “open letter.” “I did write the ‘you scare me’ letter. I sent it to the NY Times but they never acknowledged or published it. However, it hit the internet and according to the ‘experts’ has had over 500,000 hits.

Here is the text of the letter.

Dear President Obama:

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me.

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don’t understand it at its core.

You scare me because you lack humility and ‘class’, always blaming others.

You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail.

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the ‘blame America’ crowd and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer ‘wind mills’ to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world.

You scare me because you have begun to use ‘extortion’ tactics against certain banks and corporations.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O’Relllys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.
