Buy American

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

I’m going to plug an American product, and no, it’s not vehicles by the Ford Motor company, the only one of the “Big Three” automakers who didn’t take taxpayer money, and the only one to show a profit.

What I’m plugging is what is sitting right in front of me currently, Hawaiian grown coffee from Kona Joe. Joe has an interesting approach to growing coffee, he has taken a few tips from wine growers.

I typically buy either the Dark Roast or the Medium Roast. Whole bean of course. If you aren’t grinding your coffee beans right before you brew, you really should try it.

So, remember to “Buy American” when shopping for really good coffee!

Obama “Budget”: $1.1 Trillion in new taxes

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

BOHICA America!  Our Dear Leader is proposing $1.1 Trillion in new taxes. Kiss any idea of an economic recovery anytime soon goodbye!

Before you Fiscal Conservatives start complaining, remember that democrat House “leader” Nancy Pelosi needs your money so her family can fly on Air Force jets to avoid dealing with rabble like you.

Update: To go with that $1.1 Trillion in new taxes is $1.6 Trillion in new debt! Is this the Change you were Hoping for?  Probably not.

Monday Book Pick: Live Free or Die

Live Free or Die by John Ringo.

Woot! This book was fun! Loosely based on the back story of the Schlock Mercenary webcomic, John Ringo has fun with classic SciFi concepts like First Contact, asteroid mining, and big nasty space Battlecruisers! He doesn’t think small either. Lots and lots of mirrors in space make great big solar powered Death Rays! Ringo is planning more books in this series and I’m hoping he goes E.E. “Doc” Smith big.
