American infantryman (army and Marines) have been wearing kevlar flak jackets for at least the last 10 yrs. New trials are being conducted by the Army and Marines with full body armor that is liquid cooled, helmet mounted IR sights, minicomputers, etc.... all of this for the standard infantryman.
