Recent History of Haldane's Harriers, Chapter 2

Chapter 1

Since the Space Vermin Battletech campaign started, the Harriers have served as follows:

• Spring, 3025: While finishing service with the Duke of Kalidasa, the Harriers were raided by the House Liao units that ambushed and destroyed the command lance. Harrier counter-strikes discovered Star League-era experimental material and mechs.

• June, 3025: The Harriers took a raid contract with the LCAF to perform a raid on Proserpina. Transport to Steiner Space and then to Proserpina took until November. While raiding, they were involved with three actions against the 2nd Legion of Vega, the third of which included the capture of the Kurita heir.

  One company of Legion mechwarriors mutinied, killing their officers & ISP observer. They then made contact with the raiders. The mutineers joined the Harriers, which expanded to three mech companies, an aero-mech company, and an infantry company.

  Select Harriers were transported to Tharkad to present the Dragon's Heir to Katherine Steiner. He was than ransomed back to the Combine.

• May, 3026: The Harriers were awarded a sweet contract (so they thought) for garrison duty on Somerset under the local Duke-holder. However, the Duke-holder was beset by a local uprising that he was keeping from the Steiner government. The locals had some mechs and used guerilla tactics to good advantage against the Harriers. A climactic battle took a lot of the fighting power out of the uprising - as well as destroying half the Harrier's combat power!

• Mid-3026: In our campaign, House Kurita, Liao, and Marik did not sit about idly by, waiting for Steiner and Davion to form and unstoppable Alliance. They struck first, taking several key worlds severing Davion and Steiner by some 50 lightyears. Additional raids were launched up and down the Steiner borders to keep them from concentrating troops to launch a counter-offensive.

• In November, the Harriers sent a raiding company out to the rim to get enough booty to buy replacement mechs. It was a successful raid; between the raid and spending nearly all the Harriers spare cash, they were able to replace most of the missing mechs.

• April, 3027: The Harriers neglected to renew their contract for garrison duty. Instead, they took contract to join the impending offensive to open the Davion Corridor from the Steiner end. Lead elements arrived on Caph in the end of September, 3027, in time to help mop up.

• December, 3027: The Harriers formed part of the first-wave assault force on Fomalhaut.

• January, 3028: The Harriers are withdrawn from combat.
